The Firm empowers a small group of creative and energetic employees, ranging from administrative to senior management, to organize Firm-sponsored events, group activities and specialty programs throughout the year. These employees are proud to be members of CARE (Committee for the Activities and Retention of Employees). CARE's goal is to increase the morale and motivate all of the employees of LGC&D using a generous annual budget provided by the Firm. Below is a sampling of the most recent events they have conjured up for all of our enjoyment.

2010 After Tax Party
This event was held in early May at the Waterman Grille, set along the banks of the Seekonk River on Providence's East Side. It was an evening of celebration after a successful busy season where employees came together to relax and mingle. Not only did we enjoy appetizers, drinks and a buffet dinner with our fellow employees, but we were also treated with a presentation of the annual comedic video organized and filmed by the members of CARE -- starring none other than the crazy accountants of LGC&D! Voluntary donations to the Rhode Island Flood Recovery Fund were made by those who wanted to take a copy of the DVD home with them.

2010 Summer Outing
Every summer, the Firm sponsors an all-day outing to provide some relaxation and fun for its employees. Most recently, CARE organized a day at Whispering Pines, on the grounds of W. Alton Jones campus of the University of Rhode Island. It is a quiet, secluded West Greenwich, RI location where we enjoyed canoeing, horseshoes, basketball, bocce ball and volleyball, all surrounded by a forest of pine trees and a serene lakefront. We were provided with a gourmet sit-down lunch followed by some cool and refreshing Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. What a great way to start the summer!

2009 Holiday Party
Each year, the Firm graciously hosts a formal holiday party for employees and their significant others. The 2009 Holiday Party was held at The Federal Reserve in Downtown Providence where we enjoyed an evening of exquisite dining and hours of dancing. In recent years, the event was held at the Squantum Club in East Providence, Café Nuovo and the Biltmore, both in Downtown Providence. Regardless of the venue, it is guaranteed to be a fabulous night!
