
Richard J. DeRienzo, CPA 
Managing Principal
Rich has been servicing closely held, entrepreneurially-operated companies since 1979. His areas of experience include accounting and tax planning for closely held businesses, assisting clients in structuring expansions and financing packages, the acquisitions or sales of businesses, and strategic business planning. Rich currently directs audit, business consulting and tax planning services for domestic and international clients for manufacturing, distribution, health care services and real estate.

Frank J. Champi, CPA 
Principal
Frank has been a CPA for over 25 years. He is a specialist in government auditing standards, the Single Audit Act, and employee benefit plans. Frank also has expertise in low income subsidized housing, nursing homes and other health care providers, and the hotel and lodging industry. Frank is a frequent speaker and lecturer at area colleges and has taught courses in Government Accounting and Auditing.
Stephen M. Garfinkel, CPA 
Principal
Stephen has over 20 years experience in the health care field. In addition to servicing health care clients in matters such as third-party reimbursement, accounting and auditing, rate appeals, and third-party and Internal Revenue Service audits, Stephen has served as a member of various national and regional health care committees. Stephen presently represents home health agencies, hospices, nursing homes, and various other health care providers.
Jerrold N. Dorfman , CPA, PFS 
Principal
Jerry has been a CPA for over 20 years. As a tax principal, he is responsible for tax planning and compliance matters for many corporate and individual clients and serves as an in-house resource consultant on tax matters for all clients. In 1988, Jerry was one of the first two Rhode Island CPAs to earn the title of Accredited Personal Financial Specialist from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He served as adjunct professor in the Bentley College Graduate Tax Program and is a frequent lecturer at tax seminars in the real estate and construction industries.
Peter Mezei , CPA
Principal
Peter has been a CPA for over 20 years. As Director of Tax Services, he oversees a department providing services to family-owned, entrepreneurially-driven businesses. Peter provides tax advisory services to manufacturing and wholesale businesses. He is also a director of numerous professional and civic organizations.
Stephen W. Geremia , CPA
Principal
Steve has been servicing public and private companies, non-profit organizations, and governmental entities since 1981. He leads the Firm's Sarbanes-Oxley and Internal Audit Services Groups and provides assurance services to other regulated entities. Steve also provides attest and tax planning services to closely-held businesses and assists clients with mergers and acquisitions. He directs attest, business consulting, and tax planning services for domestic and international companies in the fields of manufacturing, distribution, financial services, and health care services.
Susan R. Johnson, CPA
Principal
Susan began her career with the firm in 1982 upon her graduation from the University of Rhode Island. She operates as a client service principal on commercial enterprises and governmental agencies. She is responsible for providing business consulting and attest functions to the firm's clients in a variety of industries. Her service activities involve working with these entities complying with the attest requirements of their contractual and regulatory agreements. She assists the firm's clients with financing matters, bankruptcy and insolvency reporting, Single Audit compliance matters, internal control system analysis, and SEC reporting.
Michael E. Criscione , CPA
Principal
Michael is a business advisor and client service principal for long-term, health and human services providers, home health care agencies and hospices in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts. He has been servicing closely held businesses and non-profit organizations since 1987. Michael's responsibilities include working with the owner/operator or board of directors of the firm's healthcare providers on financial matters affecting the entity's business, third party reimbursement issues, and compliance related matters. He assists his clients with the preparation of annual operating budgets, development of reimbursement strategies and systems, negotiations with federal and state agencies, preparation of annual cost reports, and completion of annual attest functions.
John E. Finnerty , CPA/CVA
Principal
John has been servicing closely-held, entrepreneurial-operated companies and not-for-profit entities for LGC&D since 1996. As a principal, John is responsible for tax planning, compliance and research activities relating to client matters and coordinates tax education programs. He currently concentrates his efforts in corporate, partnership, non-profit and individual taxation. John manages clients in various industries including, but not limited to, real estate, construction, and manufacturing. Prior to his employment at LGC&D, John had eight years’ public accounting experience. He completed his undergraduate education at Nichols College (Magna Cum Laude) and received a Masters in Taxation from Bryant College.
Pamela L. Sawin , CPA
Principal
For over two decades, Pam has been providing attest, reimbursement and consulting services to clients in the health care and not-for-profit industries. In 1986, she pioneered the firm's first flex-time role, successfully creating the foundation for the firm's ability to attract and retain professionals seeking greater life/work balance. Pam has represented the firm, and our Women Count team, as a speaker at a number of educational and policy forums. Most recently, she spoke at the Bryant Women's Summit and Boston Society of Architects on topics related to developing opportunities for professional growth for young women within service organizations. Pam received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from URI and is a member of the AICPA and the RISCPA.
Joseph K. Sabetta, CPA
Principal
Since joining the firm in 1989, Joe has provided audit and specialized consulting services to closely-held entrepreneurially operated companies as well as not-for-profit and governmental entities. His experience includes working with multi-national manufacturers and distributors. He has assisted companies with inventory, consolidation and forensic projects. As a member of the Firm's IT Solutions Group, he has been responsible for assisting firm members and clients with general computer control audits and data analysis projects. Joe currently serves as the Treasurer of Gateway Realty Corporations, a not-for-profit organization that developers and maintains affordable housing for handicapped individuals. Joe received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bryant College and is a member of the AICPA and the RISCPA.
Lynn M. O'Marra, Esq.
Principal
Lynn concentrates her practice on managing the tax needs of our commercial enterprises and their owners. For over fourteen years, she has assisted clients develop tax saving strategies, navigate issues with state and local tax authorities, and assist with on-going compliance and research matters. As a member of Women Count leadership initiative, she provides support and guidance to our internal staff, working to help them with their career advancement efforts through communication, mentoring and support. Lynn is a recent graduate of Leadership RI, class of 2006, and also serves on the board of the Providence Athenaeum. Lynn received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1987, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1991. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1994.
Renee C. Aloisio 
Director of Internal Operations
Renee has been responsible for coordinating and managing the firm's administrative functions for the past 12 years. She started her career with the firm in 1989 as a tax associate and quickly was given the opportunity to develop and implement the firm's human resource policies and practices. Although firm members are her top priority, Renee also provides recruiting and HR consulting services to clients and is a frequent guest speaker at area colleges, providing students with insights into the recruiting process, business etiquette and communications. As a Women Count representative, Renee recently joined the Leading Women SENE advisory board and has been a long time member of the NE Chapter of The Association for Accounting and Administration. Renee graduated from RIC with a BS in Accounting.
