Learning is key to success. LGC&D provides internal continuing education in all facets of our profession, and we encourage participation in such courses outside the Firm. We pride ourselves in providing a series of career challenges so that our employees will have an opportunity to reach their full potential.

Every Fall, we invest a great deal of time to create a week-long in-house training curriculum that prepares our new employees for hands-on assignments and responsibilities. We also arrange for special speakers throughout the year as well as numerous CPE courses so that our certified public accountants can continue to earn their credentials.

Guest Speakers: In May 2006, the Firm invited Joe Goldberg of Buckingham Investment Advisors and Jeff Bauer of Angell Pension Group to speak to its employees regarding the benefits of the 401(K) plan.

CPA Study Group: The Firm has recently created a group where new staff members can join together in preparing for the CPA exam. A well-known local professor is leading this group.

Certifications: Jerrold Dorfman was one of the first two Rhode Island CPAs to earn the title of Accredited Personal Financial Specialist from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
